  • Exploring One Of The Biggest Abandoned Mines In Nevada: Part 1

Consistent with its status as one of the biggest abandoned mines in Nevada, it requires a hike of thousands of feet and a significant elevation decline just to get down to where the underground workings really begin at this massive mine… As can be seen near the start of this video, there are twin portals and passages running parallel down to the underground workings. Our guess was that this was because one passage was for traffic entering the mine and the other for traffic departing the mine. Deep underneath the mountain, the passages converge on a main hub from which drifts branch out in all directions. At the heart of this hub is a breakroom and a large workshop. A large drift takes off to the right from the workshop, while to the left a drift meanders away and another passage descends d...

Located in Wimberley,Texas, Jacob's Well is an artesian spring that enchants visitors with its intricate system of underwater caves and limestone cliffs. Its cave descends downwards, reaching an average depth of 120 feet. For many adventure-seeking outsiders, the cool, clean, and clear waters of Jacob's Well offers relief from the hot Texan sun...but it comes at a price. Considered one of the most dangerous diving spots in the world, the depths of the waters can easily swallow anyone alive. This, however, has not stopped daredevil open-water divers from risking their lives by plunging into its seemingly never-ending hole. Taking the dive requires experience with specialized techniques and cave diving equipment, since there is a high risk of getting lost in the caves deep down. Otherwise you might as well just swim close to the surface like most visitors do. To this day, eight diver deaths have been recorded at the site. 9: The Danakil Desert In the northern end of Africa's Great Rift Valley lies the Danakil Desert in Ethiopia, one of the hottest places on the surface of the planet. It's one of the most inhospitable places known to man, with daytime temperatures exceeding 122°F (or 50°C). Volcanoes and earthquakes continually rip the ground apart, spewing lava and noxious gases, and giving the place its name "the gateway to Hell". The idea that anyone would actually live here seems absurd, yet people have been inhabiting the place continuously for thousands of years. As salt traders, natives make regular two-day long treks on camels to collect salt. One interesting note about the native Danakils is that they used to have a reputation of cutting off unwanted visitors' testicles; although nowadays the practice has stopped. The proximity of the region to Eritrea's borders also makes it a dangerous place for visitors. In 2012, five European tourists were filled and four others bid trapped by African revel groups near a volcano in the area. 8: Madidi National Park Bolivia's Madidi National Park has long been considered the most biologically diverse protected area on the planet, with new wildlife species being frequently discovered in the area. But in the middle of such a steamy tropical rainforest, there's bound to be plenty of creatures above you in the food chain. As beautiful as the place may be, the diverse species have developed different types of poison to protect themselves: toxic moths, flesh-eating maggots, and skin-eating fungi to name a few. Direct contact with the park's plants leads to severe itching, rash, and dizziness. Any small wound or cut can quickly get infected by parasites. Visitors will also get the chance to experience wild animals such as snakes, jaguars, and bears; all of which prey on humans. The wild pigs are among the worst; known to literally tear human visitors apart, leaving them strewn across the park floor in pieces. 7: Death Valley Death Valley is a stunningly beautiful desert surrounded by mountains. Located in eastern California near the Nevada border, Death Valley seems like something out of this world with its alien-like topography and scorching heat. You might have experienced hot and dry places, but none can compare to what is considered Earth's natural oven. During the summers, Death Valley commonly experiences temperatures above 120°F (or 49°C), with its highest recorded temperature reaching a staggering 134°F (or 56.7°C). The blazing sun and searing heat would quickly dehydrate and exhaust anyone, and without water, death would come within less than 14 hours. Despite that, the place is continuously visited by tourists. Many deaths have been recorded in the past for those not honoring the valley's extreme climate. In August of 2016 for example, 40-year-old Linda Hung took a turn into Death Valley and got her car stuck in the sand. She then walked off to get help, but collapsed just five miles away from the car, where rescuers later found her tread body. 6: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Famous for its legendary carnivals and festivals, Rio may seem like a great place for a holiday.

It almost seems like a cemetery for almost every airplane and helicopter used since world war 2 and is a very interesting place to explore on google maps. Who knows what are our government will decide to do with all of these planes. 6. Biggest Word Ever When you have enough money to dig your name out of the ground big enough for it to be clearly visible from google maps and space, you know you’ve finally made it. Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan is in fact a billionaire and part of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family. He had his name carved into a sandy surface on Futaisi Island, which he owns, located in the Persian Gulf. Not only is this a tad egocentric but also a tad creepy. 5. Pigeon People Have pigeons finally been genetically engineered to look more human like.Throw some bird seed and run! You better hope they’ll settle for eating bread crumbs and not human brains. If you’re strolling down the streets in Musashino, Japan near Tokyo, you may come across the horrific pigeons people who may peck out one of your eyeball. So watch out!It doesn’t matter what direction it goes, the pigeons are still staring at the camera. The google street driver didn’t apply for this job to be traumatized for life! 4. Zombie Balcony Look for this zombie in Nancy, France on a balcony if you day. This image doesn’t appear like a prank, just a zombie peering out onto the street, hungry for brains. You better hope she doesn’t know how to ride that back because fast moving flesh eaters are the last thing we need! 3. Zombie Child In case you weren’t a believer that the zombie apocalypse isn’t here or not coming soon, take a look on google maps for more zombie children like in this photo here. This is the last thing the street car driver wants to see. No one had mentioned anything about zombies in the job interview and a brainless driver wouldn’t be too useful for the company. 2. National Nevada Security Site Ever wonder what a nuclear wasteland looks like? Or how the land might look after it’s been bombarded by about 1000 atomic blasts Well check the national nevada security site and take a look at some of the strange things going on there. It somewhat similar to the surface of the moon. The site was created in 1951 and is still in use today. Small towns were built in order to be absolutely obliterated to test the effectiveness of nuclear weapons. Located northeast of the proving grounds, is the infamous area 51. You may not see any aliens on google maps here on groom lake but you can imagine what goes on below the ground! 1. Creepy Kazakhstan Pentagram In northern Kazakhstan, near the Russian border, you’ll find this mysterious pentagram in an isolated region by a lake. This 5 pointed star often represents the spirit, and then the elements of earth, air, fire and water. But if it’s pointed upside down like we see in this photo, it means something much more sinister. It’s often used by pagans and wiccans and represents dark spirits like the one of the devil. The two upright points tend to imply to satan’s horns. Was this site used a place for devil worship. Who knows!

A large drift takes off to the right from the workshop, while to the left a drift meanders away and another passage descends deeper into the bowels of the mountain. In this first video, we explore the hub of the mine as well as the workings taking off to the left from the hub. Following the descending passage, we were eventually blocked by flooding as the mine workings continue deep beneath the water level inside of the mine. One can only imagine how many miles of workings are under those dark waters. Fortunately, the other main drift taking off to the left was on a slight upward incline and so the water drained down and (mostly) out. With the miles of underground workings at this abandoned mine stretching well into the double digits, one might expect there to be quite a lot of information available on this site. However, that is not the case. There is surprisingly little information to be found online and the various government agencies involved with this site have done a pretty thorough job of scrubbing references to it from their public databases. ***** All of these videos are uploaded in HD, so adjust those settings to ramp up the quality! It really does make a difference… You can click here for the full playlist of abandoned mines: https://goo.gl/TEKq9L If you like these videos on exploring abandoned mines, please subscribe! https://goo.gl/yjPxH1 Thanks for watching! ***** Growing up in California’s “Gold Rush Country” made it easy to take all of the history around us for granted. However, abandoned mine sites have a lot working against them – nature, vandals, scrappers and various government agencies… The old prospectors and miners that used to roam our lonely mountains and toil away deep underground are disappearing quickly as well. These losses finally caught our attention and we felt compelled to make an effort to document as many of the ghost towns and abandoned mines that we could before that niche of our history is gone forever. But, guess what? We have fun doing it! This is exploring history firsthand – bushwhacking down steep canyons and over rough mountains, figuring out the techniques the miners used and the equipment they worked with, seeing the innovations they came up with, discovering lost mines that no one has been in for a hundred years, wandering through ghost towns where the only sound is the wind... These journeys allow a feeling of connection to a time when the world was a very different place. And I’d love to think that in some small way we are paying tribute to those hardy miners that worked these mines before we were even born. So, yes, in short, we are adit addicts… I hope you’ll join us on these adventures! #ExploringAbandonedMines #MineExploring #AbandonedMines #UndergroundMineExploring

Amazing places around the world where you need to travel to. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg --------------------------------------------------------------- Description: We are all well aware of the Seven Wonders of the World, which vary between man-made spectacles of nature and what Mother Earth has created on her own. But believe it or not, the Seven Wonders seem to upstage other beautiful and incredible locations around the world. They are so surreal, that you will think that maybe they are perhaps from a painting, or a glimpse from a person’s imagination. Whether you’re a world traveler, or a homebody, do yourself a favor and go out to see these places before you die. You definitely will not regret it. But what exactly should you go out and see and where do you start? For example, in Norway, there is a place called Trolltunga, and it was created over 10,000 years ago and is a rather popular destination for hikers and bikers. If you’re afraid of heights, then you might want to avoid this place, as there is nothing stopping you from falling into the foggy abyss as it is 1,100 meters above sea level and 700 meters above the lake it towers over. Interestingly enough, Trolltunga has seen no fatalities so far. In Australia, there is a pink body of water called Lake Hillier that spans 600 meters long and 250 meters side. The lake is a saline lake, and is rather popular amongst tourists and locals alike. The pink color has remained a mystery for a while, and the water stays pink even if you take some out of it. It is speculated that it is algae that makes the water turn its pink color. But if you need something a little cooler, then head on over to Alaska to the Mendenhall Ice Caves and are located under the 12 mile long Mendenhall Glacier near Juneau, Alaska. But you might want to make a rush visit since global warming has already caused part of the cave to collapse. Not to mention that you also have to kayak and ice climb to also reach the ice caves. In Mexico, there is the Cenotes de Yucatan, where there are over 7,000 sinkholes thanks to the collapse of the landscape’s limestone. The waters in the Yucatan Peninsula are crystal clear, making the location extremely popular amongst scuba divers. The area has vast caves and secret passageways and caves…all under water. In Turkey, there is the Palmukkale, which is a natural spot in the country made up of 17 hot springs and travertine ranging from 35 to 100 degrees Celsius. People love to visit Palmukkale because they can bathe in the hot springs, which has been a practice for thousands of years. Fly Geyser looks like it was taken out of a painting, but it was really created by accident from a drilling incident in 1964. Minerals upon minerals piled on top of the site, creating a colorful geyser that is a popular tourist destination in Nevada. But be careful, you can only access it from a private road. In Belize, there is a place called the Great Blue Hole, which Jacques Cousteau declared it as one of the best scuba diving site being 300 meters long and 124 meters deep. These are just a few of the amazing surreal sites that you have to see before you die. So, take a look at the video and be prepared to be amazed. --------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRichest.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRichest_Com Instagram: http://instagram.com/therichest --------------------------------------------------------------- Featuring: Everyone knows about the Seven Wonders of the World, but what about some of the lesser known and more treacherous locations to visit? From pink lakes to underground water caves, these locations are stunning and dangerous, but well worth the trip just for the spectacular view. These are the most surreal places on earth that you must see before you die. --------------------------------------------------------------- Music Track: State of Calm - Gareth Johnson --------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.therichest.com/

On our way up along Route 66 coming from the California desert, heading towards Las Vegas and then to Area 51 in the Nevada desert, we come across some burned out, spooky, creepy and scary abandoned places. Some former homes, former businesses often entire abandoned towns! All mysteriously burned and/or destroyed and decaying.....seemingly left to rot in the scorching desert sun! It's a vast spread of 150 miles in ANY direction of Area 51....what we refer to as the "Area 51 Triangle". One strange and unusual stretch of desert! Here is a look at some bizarre, abandoned, burned out and just plain spooky places we come across in our desert travels! ~Kenneth St. King

With a weekend to explore Las Vegas we arrived hitting the ground running wanting to pack in as much as we possibly could over a short period of time. Nigh life, music, gambling, entertainment, dancing, walking the Strip and shows in the evening. Driving luxury cars, helicopter tours, exploring the Grand Canyon and marveling at Red Rock Canyon by day. Las Vegas was full of surprises. The following is a Las Vegas travel guide to experience the most out of your vacation to Sin City. It is the best things to do on Las Vegas Strip along with day excursions outside of the city limits. As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. So we aren't in Canada no more! This weekend we actually escaped to Las Vegas so we are going to be spending three days just enjoying winter in the desert and doing cool stuff. And today we're walking down the strip and we're going to show you some of the sights. And the best part - no winter parka right now. Enough walking for a while. I'm starving. Let's get some dinner. We're going to Shake Shack. Tell, me. Tell, me! You know what? Nobody does fast food like Americans. They've got it down to a science. It's absolutely unhealthy but so delicious. We're going to head back to the hotel and get ready for a show. We're going to be seeing the Michael Jackson Show at the Mandalay Bay but unfortunately we can't bring any cameras in there so we won' t be able to show you that but maybe after the show we'll hit the town again and show you the sights. Not maybe! Definitely! It is so sad to be leaving but it is our last night in Las Vegas so we're going to go out and try and see as much as we can this evening. Let's go wild. Let's gamble. It is never ending. The lights. The noise. The ding ding ding ding. This is what a casino sounds like twenty-four seven. We see people gambling here at like five in the morning when we get up for breakfast. What would a trip to Vegas be like without a little gambling? Sam, even looks like an old gambler today with that hat. Oh, I do. Guess what? We're such cheapskates we're playing with pennies. We're going to the penny machine. They don't even have pennies in Canada anymore, so let's use these American pennies up. Shiver me timbers. I'm playing a pirate game. I'm going to win me some money. Tell us? Alright, I was a pretty lousy pirate, so I'm going to try my luck with this Owl game. Hoot! Hoot! Ding ding ding ding ding. Being the supreme cheapskate that I am I'm cutting my loses after two dollars. So we're here at the Bellagio for the water show. And they have a lot of frequent shows in the evening so we're just waiting for it to start. So we are now at the Cosmopolitan and we are visiting one of the coolest bars in all of Las Vegas. This behind me is the Chandelier. This is part of our Travel in the United States series. We're making a series of videos showcasing American culture, American arts, American foods, American religion, American cuisine and American people.
