Abandoned cars in the streets and yards, abandoned homes, storage containers out in the open, deserted buildings, closed businesses all boarded up...it just seems so weird when you come from a large city environment! Terrace Canyon is hardly traveled to, but is is a magical and peaceful place made so by great sights and the sounds of falling water. And part of the magic is due to the rarity of the moving water, which is found in the Spring with the snow melt. While I missed the peak water flow, this is still a magical place beaming with wildlife. Enjoy this great hike to Terrace Canyon!

Located in Wimberley,Texas, Jacob's Well is an artesian spring that enchants visitors with its intricate system of underwater caves and limestone cliffs. Its cave descends downwards, reaching an average depth of 120 feet. For many adventure-seeking outsiders, the cool, clean, and clear waters of Jacob's Well offers relief from the hot Texan sun...but it comes at a price. Considered one of the most dangerous diving spots in the world, the depths of the waters can easily swallow anyone alive. This, however, has not stopped daredevil open-water divers from risking their lives by plunging into its seemingly never-ending hole. Taking the dive requires experience with specialized techniques and cave diving equipment, since there is a high risk of getting lost in the caves deep down. Otherwise you might as well just swim close to the surface like most visitors do. To this day, eight diver deaths have been recorded at the site. 9: The Danakil Desert In the northern end of Africa's Great Rift Valley lies the Danakil Desert in Ethiopia, one of the hottest places on the surface of the planet. It's one of the most inhospitable places known to man, with daytime temperatures exceeding 122°F (or 50°C). Volcanoes and earthquakes continually rip the ground apart, spewing lava and noxious gases, and giving the place its name "the gateway to Hell". The idea that anyone would actually live here seems absurd, yet people have been inhabiting the place continuously for thousands of years. As salt traders, natives make regular two-day long treks on camels to collect salt. One interesting note about the native Danakils is that they used to have a reputation of cutting off unwanted visitors' testicles; although nowadays the practice has stopped. The proximity of the region to Eritrea's borders also makes it a dangerous place for visitors. In 2012, five European tourists were filled and four others bid trapped by African revel groups near a volcano in the area. 8: Madidi National Park Bolivia's Madidi National Park has long been considered the most biologically diverse protected area on the planet, with new wildlife species being frequently discovered in the area. But in the middle of such a steamy tropical rainforest, there's bound to be plenty of creatures above you in the food chain. As beautiful as the place may be, the diverse species have developed different types of poison to protect themselves: toxic moths, flesh-eating maggots, and skin-eating fungi to name a few. Direct contact with the park's plants leads to severe itching, rash, and dizziness. Any small wound or cut can quickly get infected by parasites. Visitors will also get the chance to experience wild animals such as snakes, jaguars, and bears; all of which prey on humans. The wild pigs are among the worst; known to literally tear human visitors apart, leaving them strewn across the park floor in pieces. 7: Death Valley Death Valley is a stunningly beautiful desert surrounded by mountains. Located in eastern California near the Nevada border, Death Valley seems like something out of this world with its alien-like topography and scorching heat. You might have experienced hot and dry places, but none can compare to what is considered Earth's natural oven. During the summers, Death Valley commonly experiences temperatures above 120°F (or 49°C), with its highest recorded temperature reaching a staggering 134°F (or 56.7°C). The blazing sun and searing heat would quickly dehydrate and exhaust anyone, and without water, death would come within less than 14 hours. Despite that, the place is continuously visited by tourists. Many deaths have been recorded in the past for those not honoring the valley's extreme climate. In August of 2016 for example, 40-year-old Linda Hung took a turn into Death Valley and got her car stuck in the sand. She then walked off to get help, but collapsed just five miles away from the car, where rescuers later found her tread body. 6: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Famous for its legendary carnivals and festivals, Rio may seem like a great place for a holiday.

What first appears to look like a bunch of random people standing in the middle of a empty field, is actually a group of creepy scarecrows who look like they're about to come life at any moment. For what reason could the Finnish possibly need this many scarecrows? Maybe they're used to scare off zombies? Who knows… 9. Dressed up in those creepy biohazard jumpsuits, these guys in Sweden must have really spooked the google street car as he drove by at golf course. This guy with a golf club looks like he’s trying to defend himself against someone who’s suit didn’t protect him from becoming a zombie. 8. Watch out! Who knows what are our government will decide to do with all of these planes. 6. Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan is in fact a billionaire and part of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family. He had his name carved into a sandy surface on Futaisi Island, which he owns, located in the Persian Gulf. Not only is this a tad egocentric but also a tad creepy. 5. Pigeon People Have pigeons finally been genetically engineered to look more human like.Throw some bird seed and run! You better hope they’ll settle for eating bread crumbs and not human brains. If you’re strolling down the streets in Musashino, Japan near Tokyo, you may come across the horrific pigeons people who may peck out one of your eyeball. So watch out!It doesn’t matter what direction it goes, the pigeons are still staring at the camera. The google street driver didn’t apply for this job to be traumatized for life! 4. Zombie Balcony Look for this zombie in Nancy, France on a balcony if you day. This image doesn’t appear like a prank, just a zombie peering out onto the street, hungry for brains. You better hope she doesn’t know how to ride that back because fast moving flesh eaters are the last thing we need! 3. Zombie Child In case you weren’t a believer that the zombie apocalypse isn’t here or not coming soon, take a look on google maps for more zombie children like in this photo here. This is the last thing the street car driver wants to see. No one had mentioned anything about zombies in the job interview and a brainless driver wouldn’t be too useful for the company. 2. National Nevada Security Site Ever wonder what a nuclear wasteland looks like? Or how the land might look after it’s been bombarded by about 1000 atomic blasts Well check the national nevada security site and take a look at some of the strange things going on there. It somewhat similar to the surface of the moon. The site was created in 1951 and is still in use today. Small towns were built in order to be absolutely obliterated to test the effectiveness of nuclear weapons. Located northeast of the proving grounds, is the infamous area 51. You may not see any aliens on google maps here on groom lake but you can imagine what goes on below the ground! 1. Creepy Kazakhstan Pentagram In northern Kazakhstan, near the Russian border, you’ll find this mysterious pentagram in an isolated region by a lake. This 5 pointed star often represents the spirit, and then the elements of earth, air, fire and water. But if it’s pointed upside down like we see in this photo, it means something much more sinister. It’s often used by pagans and wiccans and represents dark spirits like the one of the devil. The two upright points tend to imply to satan’s horns. Was this site used a place for devil worship. Who knows!

Things to do in Nevada Travel Guide | USA Road Trip 2017 Video Transcript: Our trip began in Las Vegas, but having already been there before, we wasted no time on the Strip. After a short night’s rest, we grabbed a hearty breakfast, hopped in our rental car, and hit the road for our first stop of the day: Lake Mead. Hoover Dam is one of the most visited attractions in Nevada with as many as 1 million people taking the tour every year, and even more driving across the dam. Fun fact: there is enough concrete in Hoover Dam to build a 4 foot wide sidewalk around the Earth at the Equator. That’s a whole lot of concrete! Kayaking in Black Canyon was the highlight of the day. We lucked out with blue skies, calm waters, and the scenery was pretty spectacular - especially once we entered the canyon. Halfway up stream we took a break from kayaking and went on a short hike. We also stopped at the Emerald Cave, which gets it’s name from the bright emerald green colour reflected in the water. We had an hour’s journey to reach the Valley of Fire that morning, and it was a very leisurely drive down some scenic stretches of road. We knew we were getting closer to the park when we noticed the landscape colours started becoming more saturated. Once we entered Valley of Fire State Park, the fun began. This park is known for its rock formations, panoramic vistas, and hiking trails, so there was no shortage of things to see and do. Back on the road, we hit our first stop on the ET Highway: ET Fresh Jerky! This is an alien-themed shop selling everything from martian soda to alien sunglasses, so we used this as an opportunity to load up on snacks. After stopping for photos at the ET Highway marker which is covered in stickers, we journeyed on to the Alien Research Centre, which is pretty hard to miss considering they have a giant metal alien standing guard on a hill. Out front, we spotted a UFO-towing pick-up truck and a green alien welcoming earthlings, while inside we were surrounded by Area 51 warning signs and all sorts of alien-themed souvenirs. And then it was time to turn around, drive back to Vegas, and fly back home,. A surprise addition to our Nevada travel guide was visiting Red Rock Canyon, which is just a 20-minute drive from the Vegas Strip. Our final thoughts? There are way more things to do in Nevada than just Las Vegas and we’re glad we got to experience a mix of nature and quirky attractions on this mini USA road trip! If you have any other suggestions of cool things to see and do around the state, feel free to leave your recommendations in the comments below. Nigh life, music, gambling, entertainment, dancing, walking the Strip and shows in the evening. Driving luxury cars, helicopter tours, exploring the Grand Canyon and marveling at Red Rock Canyon by day. Las Vegas was full of surprises. The following is a Las Vegas travel guide to experience the most out of your vacation to Sin City. It is the best things to do on Las Vegas Strip along with day excursions outside of the city limits. As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. So we aren't in Canada no more! This weekend we actually escaped to Las Vegas so we are going to be spending three days just enjoying winter in the desert and doing cool stuff. And today we're walking down the strip and we're going to show you some of the sights. And the best part - no winter parka right now. Enough walking for a while. I'm starving. Let's get some dinner. We're going to Shake Shack. Tell, me. Tell, me! You know what? Nobody does fast food like Americans. They've got it down to a science. It's absolutely unhealthy but so delicious. We're going to head back to the hotel and get ready for a show. We're going to be seeing the Michael Jackson Show at the Mandalay Bay but unfortunately we can't bring any cameras in there so we won' t be able to show you that but maybe after the show we'll hit the town again and show you the sights. Not maybe! Definitely! It is so sad to be leaving but it is our last night in Las Vegas so we're going to go out and try and see as much as we can this evening. Let's go wild. Let's gamble. It is never ending. The lights. The noise. The ding ding ding ding. This is what a casino sounds like twenty-four seven. We see people gambling here at like five in the morning when we get up for breakfast. What would a trip to Vegas be like without a little gambling? Sam, even looks like an old gambler today with that hat. Oh, I do. Guess what? We're such cheapskates we're playing with pennies. We're going to the penny machine. They don't even have pennies in Canada anymore, so let's use these American pennies up. Shiver me timbers. I'm playing a pirate game. I'm going to win me some money. Tell us? Alright, I was a pretty lousy pirate, so I'm going to try my luck with this Owl game. Hoot! Hoot! Ding ding ding ding ding. Being the supreme cheapskate that I am I'm cutting my loses after two dollars. So we're here at the Bellagio for the water show. And they have a lot of frequent shows in the evening so we're just waiting for it to start. So we are now at the Cosmopolitan and we are visiting one of the coolest bars in all of Las Vegas. This behind me is the Chandelier. This is part of our Travel in the United States series. We're making a series of videos showcasing American culture, American arts, American foods, American religion, American cuisine and American people.

On our way up along Route 66 coming from the California desert, heading towards Las Vegas and then to Area 51 in the Nevada desert, we come across some burned out, spooky, creepy and scary abandoned places. Some former homes, former businesses often entire abandoned towns! All mysteriously burned and/or destroyed and decaying.....seemingly left to rot in the scorching desert sun! It's a vast spread of 150 miles in ANY direction of Area 51....what we refer to as the "Area 51 Triangle". One strange and unusual stretch of desert! Here is a look at some bizarre, abandoned, burned out and just plain spooky places we come across in our desert travels! ~Kenneth St. King
